A bolt of lightning shot out and struck his palm, instantly extinguishing the flame that had just begun to form.
"You… You're a Mutated Superpower User?" He backed away, his eyes wide with terror, enduring the numb, tingling pain shooting through his palm.
"I'm sorry, I was blind to your greatness. I'll take my mom and go right now."
As he spoke, he grabbed his mother's arm and tried to leave the room quickly, not daring to look at Felix Fields.
"Think you can just walk away like that?" Felix Fields scoffed.
The man had no choice but to stop. "Then… I apologize."
"How many crackers is your apology worth?"
The stout woman immediately chimed in, "I didn't even hurt her! We're already willing to apologize, what more do you want?"
"Mom!" the man quickly tried to shut her up, terrified she'd say the wrong thing and offend Felix.
