Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 No loose ends

BOOM!

Elias landed right in front of Yuki.

The heavy impact shook the entire factory floor, kicking up a massive cloud of thick dust.

Freed's glowing sword swung down with all his might, but it never hit Yuki.

Clang!

Elias stood perfectly still.

He was holding a long, beautiful polearm with a sharp, curved blade at the end.

It was a traditional Japanese Naginata.

He easily blocked Freed's deadly strike using just the handle of the weapon.

He didn't even look like he was trying.

"What?!"

Freed yelled, his crazy smile disappearing in an instant.

Elias simply flicked his wrists. The sheer, raw power behind his casual push sent Freed flying backward through the air.

The white-haired exorcist crashed hard into a pile of metal pipes, groaning in pain.

Behind Elias, Yuki opened her eyes.

She gasped, looking at his tall, protective back.

"Elias?"

Yuki whispered, hardly believing her eyes.

"Rest now, Yuki,"

Elias said softly, not looking back.

"Rias sent me to bring you and Seiko home. I will take it from here."

Valper Galilei glared at the new boy.

The old priest raised his hands, summoning a massive circle of dark, destructive magic.

He fired a barrage of deadly energy blasts right at Elias.

Elias didn't dodge. He just spun the Naginata in his hands.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The sharp blade sliced right through Valper's magic, cutting the energy blasts into harmless sparks that faded into the air.

Valper's eyes widened in absolute shock. He took a nervous step back.

"Impossible,"

Valper muttered, his voice shaking.

"My magic... destroyed so easily? Who are you? And what is that weapon?!"

Elias looked at the Naginata in his hands. He couldn't help but smile a little bit.

Just before he had left the warehouse, Azazel had tossed this weapon to him.

"Take this!"

Azazel had said, looking extremely excited.

"It is an Artificial Sacred Gear! I built it myself in my lab. It was completely inspired by the weapon you use in the comic books!"

It was technically a fake Sacred Gear, but Azazel was a genius inventor.

The Naginata was incredibly strong, perfectly balanced, and it hummed with powerful magical energy.

"It's just a gift from a fan,"

Elias answered Valper calmly.

Freed finally pulled himself out of the metal pipes.

He was furious. He gripped his holy sword, his eyes burning with madness.

"I don't care who you are!"

Freed screamed.

"I am going to chop you into tiny little pieces!"

Freed charged forward, swinging his sword wildly.

He was fast, but to Elias's sharp dragon senses, Freed looked like he was moving in slow motion.

Elias stepped to the side, easily dodging the glowing blade.

Then, he swung the blunt end of his Naginata.

Smack!

He hit Freed square in the stomach.

The air rushed out of Freed's lungs.

The crazy exorcist dropped to his knees, completely paralyzed by the heavy, crushing blow.

Valper and Freed were completely overwhelmed.

They were used to being the strongest people in the room.

They loved hurting weak people.

But standing in front of Elias, they realized the terrifying truth. They were nothing.

"You both like to use stolen swords and dirty tricks,"

Elias said, his voice turning cold and dangerous.

He pointed the sharp, glowing blade of his Naginata right at Valper's chest.

The massive pressure rolling off Elias's body made it hard for the villains to even breathe.

"But borrowed power is nothing compared to the real thing,"

Valper screamed in anger. He used all of his remaining magic to throw a massive, dark fireball.

At the exact same time, Freed forced himself up and swung his sword wildly at Elias's head.

Elias just sighed. He moved faster than the wind.

He spun his Naginata, instantly knocking Freed's sword out of his hands.

Then, he stepped forward and kicked Valper hard in the chest, sending the old priest crashing into the dirt.

The fight was over in less than ten seconds.

Valper and Freed were completely beaten.

They laid on the broken concrete floor, coughing and too hurt to move.

Elias had won easily.

Suddenly, a small, glowing blue magic circle appeared near Elias's ear.

It was a communication spell.

"Elias! Are you there?!"

It was Sona.

The usually calm and strict student council president sounded completely panicked.

"Sona? What is wrong?"

Elias asked quickly.

He didn't know Sona personally but from Rias and Akeno.

"It's Kokabiel!"

Sona shouted.

Elias could hear the terrifying sounds of loud explosions and shattering glass in the background.

"He is here! He brought a massive army of Fallen Angels, and they are attacking Kuoh Academy! My peerage and Rias's peerage are trying to hold up a magical barrier to protect the school, but it is breaking! He is too strong! Please, Elias, we need—"

CRASH! Static.

The call was completely cut off.

Elias's eyes narrowed. His heart beat faster.

The school was under attack. Rias, Akeno, Sona, and all the others were trapped in a warzone.

He had to get there right now.

He turned his head to look at Yuki and Seiko.

They were resting against a brick wall.

They were safe, but they were very tired and out of breath.

Then, Elias looked down at Valper and Freed.

They were bleeding and groaning on the floor.

Elias thought for a second. If he just left them here alive, they might wake up and attack Yuki and Seiko while he was gone.

Or, they might run away and hurt more innocent people later.

They were deeply evil men who loved making others suffer. They had ruined Yuki's life.

Elias decided he could not leave any loose ends.

He was going to protect his family and friends, no matter what it took.

He would not let these villains become a nuisance later.

His eyes turned ice-cold. He showed zero mercy.

Elias raised his glowing Naginata.

With two incredibly fast and perfectly precise strikes, the sharp curved blade flashed in the dark.

Swish. Swish.

Valper and Freed stopped moving completely.

Their bodies went totally limp on the factory floor.

Elias gave them a quick, absolute end.

The mad priest and the crazy exorcist would never be able to hurt anyone ever again.

Elias let his weapon fade away. He walked over to his friends.

"The bad guys are gone,"

Elias told Yuki and Seiko gently.

"You are safe now. Just rest here and catch your breath. I have to go help Rias and Sona at the school."

Yuki looked at the defeated villains, and then she looked up at Elias.

Tears of pure relief filled her eyes. A massive, heavy weight was finally lifted off her heart.

"Thank you,"

Yuki whispered.

Elias gave her a warm smile. Then, he turned toward the broken ceiling of the factory.

He bent his knees, gathered his massive magic, and jumped.

He shot into the dark night sky, flying straight toward Kuoh

Academy as fast as a shooting star.
