Chapter 2 - A love story

A Love Story

It started on a quiet afternoon, the kind where time seems to slow down just enough for something unexpected to happen.

Aria was sitting by the window of a small café, absentmindedly stirring her coffee. The rain tapped gently against the glass, painting the world outside in shades of gray. She wasn't waiting for anyone—at least, that's what she told herself.

Then he walked in.

Ethan wasn't extraordinary at first glance. Just another person escaping the rain. But when his eyes met hers for a brief second, something shifted—something neither of them could explain.

He smiled. Not the kind of smile people wear out of politeness, but one that felt warm, like sunlight breaking through clouds.

"Is this seat taken?" he asked, pointing to the chair across from her.

Aria hesitated for a moment, then shook her head. "No, it's yours."

That was how it began—two strangers sharing a table, then stories, then laughter. Minutes turned into hours, and the rain outside became nothing more than a distant memory.

They met again the next day. And the day after that.

With time, their conversations grew deeper. They talked about dreams, fears, and the little things that made life beautiful. Ethan loved how Aria noticed details others ignored. Aria loved how Ethan made even ordinary moments feel special.

But love is rarely simple.

One evening, Ethan told her he had to leave the city for a job opportunity far away. The words hung heavy in the air.

"So this is goodbye?" Aria asked softly.

Ethan looked at her, his eyes filled with something more than sadness. "I don't want it to be."

Distance tested them in ways they never expected. There were late-night calls, missed messages, and days when the silence felt louder than any words. Yet, somehow, they held on.

Because love, they realized, wasn't just about being together. It was about choosing each other—even when it was difficult.

Months later, on another rainy afternoon, Aria found herself back at the same café.

She ordered coffee. Sat by the window. Waited.

The door opened.
