Holino reached his arms up, looping his wrists over Beron's shoulders, using his weight to pull the towering man closer until their bodies were touching flush from chest to thigh. The heat radiating between them was instantaneous, electric, and suffocating.
"Why are you constantly trying to run away from this, Beron?" Holino murmured, his breath brushing warm against the side of Beron's neck. He felt the sudden, rigid tension in the warlord's corded muscles, the way Beron stood entirely stone-still, refusing to wrap his arms around him yet unable to pull away. "You and I... we have an absolute, terrifying chemistry. You know it, and I know it. Instead of sitting there trying so hard to deny it and acting like a grumpy brute... why don't you just let go? Give in to it. Forget about Malcolm. My older brother already has an Enigma mate who owns his soul. You're never going to get him."
