"Of course I was, you psycho," Malcolm grinned, his teeth flashing in total triumph as he casually adjusted his position against the pillows. "I spent the last ten minutes completely holding my breath and locking myself just to see how you would react. I wanted to see if the great, all-powerful global architect actually possessed a single shred of genuine human emotion, or if you were just a machine."
Dahmer didn't laugh nor smirk.
Instead, a terrifyingly dark expression settled over his beautiful face. His fingers tightened into Malcolm's robe with a force that nearly tore it. "It's not funny," Dahmer rasped, his voice dropping into a deep-seated trauma. "It is not funny at all, Malcolm. You had me... you had me so incredibly worried that my entire chest felt like it was fracturing. Don't you ever... ever do that to me again."
