With a rough, uncoordinated shove, Beron released his hold on Holino's collar, tossing him back against the passenger seat. He turned around, grabbing the steering wheel once more and slamming his shoe onto the accelerator, the car roaring back to life as it sped down the misty road.
Holino lay against the leather, his chest rising and falling in rapid gasps as he stared at the driver in shock. "Where the hell are we going, Beron?!" he demanded, thrashing his bound arms against the seat back. "Tell me where you're taking me!"
"It's none of your goddamn business," Beron shot back, his eyes fixed strictly on the asphalt ahead. "Keep your mouth shut if you don't want to be torn apart before we reach the perimeter."
