"Stop talking, Holino!" Malcolm roared, his voice echoing with a defensive sharpness against the damp concrete walls. He tightened his arms around Luca's limp body, shifting the boy securely against his broad chest. His eyes flared with a desperate denial as he stared down at his coughing, terrified brother. "You are completely delusional! The boy is a fragile omega. He must have been infected with a strange, highly concentrated dark energy leak from someone in the crowd, or maybe his internal energy is fluctuating! There is absolutely no biological way he is that dangerous on his own!"
Without waiting for his brother to recover, Malcolm turned on his heel, his long, powerful legs moving with an unyielding speed as he carried Luca toward the iron fire exit at the end of the corridor.
