Elara's pov
We were lined up in the courtyard like a welcoming committee for the apocalypse.
If anyone had told me two months ago that I would be standing like this, dressed like some corporate assistant to a man who ruled monsters, I would have laughed in their face.
Now I stood still, chin slightly raised, trying to look like I belonged.
Killian stood to Lucian's right, while Omega Mina stood near the heavy iron gates, her hands folded behind her back. I was positioned to Lucian's left.
It was only then, with both brothers standing side by side in identical black suits, that their resemblance struck me fully.
Flanking us on both sides were the Blood Marshals and the Enforcers.
The first arrivals came before the Alphas, as custom demanded. The game masters entered through the gates without ceremony. There were three of them, each wearing neutral colors stripped of any pack insignia, their presence acknowledged with a simple incline of Lucian's head rather than a greeting.
