Me, a little mouse...
I must be the best Mouse King!
Everyone says the New Year is the liveliest time, but this little mouse wouldn't know. Every day is more or less the same. We chose to stay far away from the bustling human areas because we're timid and cowardly, and we don't like hiding in human houses.
The good thing about the suburbs is the freedom. Humans rarely show up here. We mice can run wild everywhere and party all night.
The bad thing about the suburbs is there's too little food. No humans live here, so there are no scraps or leftovers for us mice to scavenge. But in the summer, the ground is covered in fruit—sweet, crisp, and very nice.
Actually, being the Mouse King is pretty easy. The mice in my family are all very sensible and obedient. When I decided to move to the suburbs, we just dug, bit by bit, extending the tunnels to create the home we have now.
Even if there's only a tiny bit of tasty food, these little ones will save it for me.
