After finishing her meal, she noticed a missed call from Yara Summers. The two of them called each other from time to time. It was about six in the evening back home, and she was a bit surprised by the call at this hour, as Yara had mentioned she'd be busy recently.
Evelyn Grant got up and went to the terrace outside the restaurant to take the call.
A gust of cold wind made her shiver. She pulled her coat tighter, burying her face in the fabric, and said softly, "Yara."
Yara's voice sounded off. It was low and tense, lacking its usual relaxed quality, as if she were hiding from someone. "Are you still in Zermian? Haven't you returned to Veridia yet?"
"No, I'll be back in a couple of days," Evelyn Grant said, sensing something was wrong. "What's the matter?"
"I'm with an artist recording a show, and Leo Lawrence came looking for me."
Evelyn Grant's brow furrowed. She knew exactly what this was about.
