At dinnertime, she looked at the food piled high in her bowl, and a hint of warmth entered her eyes.
"I can serve myself."
Zachary just glanced at Olivia, then went back to placing food in her bowl.
"Your hand is injured. It's not easy to use chopsticks."
Olivia glanced down at the spoon in her left hand and didn't argue further. She ate every piece of food Zachary put in her bowl.
Dinnertime was quiet and cozy. After the meal, Olivia started to get up to throw away the disposable takeout containers, but before she could, Zachary took the trash from her hand.
"I'll get it. You stay seated."
"Ah? Okay."
Olivia sat on the sofa, her eyes following Zachary as he walked toward the trash can.
Zachary had intended to just put the trash in the bin, but when he got there, he saw it was already full. Pulling out the bag, he turned to Olivia. "I'm taking out the trash. Call me if you need anything."
"Okay."
