When Phoebe Faulkner heard this, her heart sank a little, but she pretended nothing was wrong. She placed the thermos in her hand on the bedside table and said nonchalantly, "We didn't talk about anything. Faye Ford just told me to take good care of you."
She was obviously lying.

He was just a little wary of Faye Ford. As long as Faye didn't say the wrong things, he didn't mind them seeing each other.
