She really wasn't scared in the slightest.
Ronan Langdon could see no fear in Phoebe Faulkner's eyes, not even a hint of apprehension.
"Escort Miss Faulkner upstairs." Ronan Langdon said this to the bodyguard at his side.
"Yes, Lord Ronan."
Phoebe Faulkner nodded at Ronan Langdon and went upstairs with Lionel Faulkner.
After Phoebe Faulkner left, she didn't glance back at Ronan Langdon once. Instead, she kept speaking in a low voice to Lionel Faulkner, as if convincing him not to stoop to Ronan's level.
'So this is the woman Jace Lennox has taken a fancy to?'

Not long after Phoebe Faulkner and Lionel Faulkner went upstairs, a bodyguard in black strode in and reported to Ronan Langdon, "Lord Ronan, Finn Vaughn has arrived in Country M. Your orders...?"
'He just returned to the country, and he's already been sent over here?'
"Invite him over for a visit. It's been a while since you two have seen each other."
"Yes, Lord Ronan."
