Phoebe Faulkner fell completely silent. It wasn't until Jace Lennox's frown on the other end of the line was so deep she could feel his cold displeasure through the receiver that she finally spoke. "My brother and I are both fine. Thank you for getting us out."
"If you're fine, then come back immediately." After a pause, Jace Lennox added, "Bring your brother with you. A hospital back home has already been arranged for him."
Phoebe Faulkner had called Jace Lennox specifically to talk about her brother, but now there was no need. He had already arranged everything. The trace of disappointment and sadness she had felt because he hadn't come to rescue her personally vanished without a trace.
'At least he didn't just stand by and do nothing,' she thought. 'At least he sent someone.'
