Phoebe clutched her chest as her stomach churned. She suddenly felt nauseous and wanted to throw up. The feeling was so intense that, without even considering that Jace was still in the bathroom, she rushed in, leaned right over the toilet, and began to dry heave.
BLECH!
The sudden bursting open of the bathroom door made Jace, who had just started showering, freeze. His gaze shot to the doorway, sharp and cold, but the guarded look in his eyes faded when he saw it was Phoebe who had stumbled in.
'What is this girl up to?'
Jace grabbed a towel, wrapped it around his waist, turned off the showerhead, and walked over to Phoebe.
Phoebe was still hunched over the toilet, dry heaving.
She wanted to throw up, but nothing would come out. It was agonizing.
Jace watched her hunched over the toilet, retching repeatedly. She heaved until her face grew pale, yet nothing came up. Seeing her miserable state, his expression darkened. He reached out and patted her back. "What's wrong?"
