Ever since they'd gotten in the car, the stream of Silas Thornton's thoughts had gone silent.
Normally, Silas Thornton would be rambling nonstop in his head, completely unable to quiet down.
She stared worriedly at his tail draped over the car seat. "Did something else happen today?"
Silas Thornton's eyes faltered for a moment as he snapped out of his thoughts. His voice softened. "It's nothing. Get to bed early tonight. It's late."
Holly Wyatt tilted her head slightly. Still, she heard none of Silas Thornton's thoughts.
Her brow furrowed slightly, but she said nothing.
When she went to bed that night, she still couldn't hear Silas Thornton's incessant muttering from the room next door.
