After dinner, Jett Westgate wheeled her into the master bedroom.
She moved from the wheelchair onto the bed.
Once she was settled, Jett Westgate turned and walked into the walk-in closet. He came out holding a neatly folded, light-blue nightgown, its silk fabric shimmering softly in the light.
He handed her the nightgown. "Change into this."
Annelise Valentine glanced down at the nightgown, then looked back up at him.
He stood right by the bed, showing no intention of giving her privacy.
She was silent for two seconds before asking, "How am I supposed to change if you don't leave?"
He drawled with a smile, "We haven't seen each other in a while. Since when did you get so shy? There isn't a single part of you I haven't seen."
"So what if you have? Does that mean you don't have to give me privacy anymore? By that logic, are you going to stand there and watch me while I use the toilet, too?"
