It wasn't long before Chloe Fairchild returned.
She was carrying a large black case, which she placed on the table and opened—a full set of tattoo equipment lay neatly arranged inside.
A tattoo gun, disinfectant, gloves, needles, ink... everything was there.
Annelise Valentine stood up, walked to the table, and reached out to pick up the tattoo gun. She weighed it in her hand for a moment, then set it back down.
Then she looked up at Jett Westgate.
"You're really letting me do this? No regrets?"
Jett Westgate raised his arms and took off his jacket. The movement was a bit slow, pulling at the wound on his back. His brows furrowed slightly, but he didn't make a sound.
He tossed his jacket onto the sofa, revealing the black knit shirt underneath, then took two steps forward and stopped in front of Annelise Valentine.
"Go ahead," he said.
His voice was perfectly steady.
She raised her hand, picked up the tattoo gun, and twirled it once.
"Fine," she said.
