Annelise looked up at the sound and turned off her screen. "No, I'm full. I can't eat another bite."
Kian Miller suggested, "It's still early! There's a pool party nearby, a Christmas Eve special. Want to go check it out together?"
Annelise shook her head. "I'll pass. You guys have fun. We're pretty close to Veridia University here, and I'd like to walk around the campus."
Jett Westgate: "I'll go with you."
"Okay." She nodded, her agreement crisp and clear.
After parting ways with Kian Miller, Leo Lennox, and Hugo Summers, Jett Westgate took Annelise Valentine's hand, and they walked out into the streets of Veridia on Christmas Eve.
A cold wind carrying the festive air swept over them, but it couldn't dissipate the warmth where their palms were joined.
They strolled along the street, heading slowly in the direction of Washington Square Park and the main Veridia University campus.
