Jett Westgate offered a faint smile. "That kind of medicine is bad for your health."
Annelise mentally rolled her eyes.
'Of course I know it's bad for my health!'
'Who would want to take it if they had any other choice?'
'But if I don't take it... what if I get pregnant...?'
'I absolutely, *absolutely* cannot let this lead to an even more terrifying outcome!'
'The main thing was, she had no idea how to calculate her safe period.'
'What little she knew about her own body was barely enough to pass a health class exam; how could she possibly figure out something so complicated?'
'What if it really happens, just like that?'
Annelise said curtly, "I have to take it anyway!"
Jett Westgate said, displeased, "I told you, it's bad for your health."
Angered by his domineering refusal, Annelise shot to her feet.
