Georgia Thorne completely lost her appetite. She put down her chopsticks and just kept sipping water.
Nancy Hughes, lost in her own excitement, chattered away, oblivious to Georgia's expression.
During their lunch break, Nancy Hughes took Georgia on a tour. "So, what do you think? This time you've gotten a real, proper look at your husband's company!"
Nancy was about to continue when Georgia called out to her, "Nancy!"
"What's wrong?" she asked, turning around in confusion.
Georgia looked at her with a serious expression. "We've separated."
"Who?" Nancy was baffled for a moment, then she realized there was only one person Georgia could be talking about.
"You and Elliot Sheridan?" Nancy covered her mouth in shock. "Thankfully no one's around. Things were going so well, why did you separate?"
"It happened a long time ago," Georgia said. "Nancy, there's something I forgot to tell you. I had a miscarriage."
Nancy's eyes widened in horror. "What in the world happened?!"
