Georgia Thorne had seen this residential complex on TV. She'd heard many celebrities lived here, and that paparazzi couldn't get in.
The elevator ascended slowly. Georgia Thorne felt a sense of suffocation as the mirror reflected her face.
Her cheeks were slowly growing hot.
DING DONG. The doors opened. Owen Sawyer stepped out first, and Georgia Thorne hurried after him.
"President Sheridan is inside, Miss Thorne. Please, go on in."
Owen Sawyer held the door open for Georgia Thorne.
"Um, aren't you coming in?" she asked, turning to look at Owen Sawyer awkwardly.
"No, I have other things to attend to." Owen Sawyer smiled. He wouldn't dare interrupt the President's fun.
Georgia Thorne gave a disappointed "oh" and turned around.
She called out softly, but no one answered.
In the shoe cabinet, a pair of pink women's slippers immediately caught her eye.
They were brand new, probably kept for when a woman visited.
