Julian Winslow merely chuckled. "Have you forgotten Jasper Hawthorne's past relationship with your mistress? Naturally, he understands her. He knows she would never compromise easily, so he prepared a two-pronged approach. If he succeeds in negotiating the acquisition, those liquid funds obviously won't be needed. If the negotiation fails, I imagine he will play the sympathy card, inject the capital directly into The Hughes Group, and use that to leverage other benefits."
Ronan Fordham's heart tightened as he listened, thinking this boded poorly. "Then what should we do now? Madam definitely won't budge on the acquisition."
Julian sighed softly. After a long moment, he said, "Then let her be. Let her use The Hughes Group as practice. Just keep a close eye on Jasper Hawthorne. Don't let him get near Madam again."
Ronan thought his boss was spoiling his wife a bit too much, actually letting her use an entire corporation just for practice.
