Julian Winslow's question, however, stirred up a myriad of emotions within Nina Chambers. These emotions ultimately coalesced into a surge of strength. Breaking free from his iron grip, she shot back, "My only family is here. Why shouldn't I come back?"
Julian's eyes grew icy. "Miss Chambers, you had best remember your words today," he said coldly.
Nina looked at the handsome face before her. She couldn't believe how cold his features had become. His gaze was equally freezing, completely stripped of its former warmth. A sudden, sorrowful smile touched her lips. "The current Leader of the Winslow family has his beautiful wife by his side and a child on the way. Naturally, he wouldn't want me to return."
At this, Julian raised an eyebrow. His deep eyes darkened even further. "What do you mean by that?"
"Nothing in particular. I just want you to know that I came back solely because my sister is here. I refuse to be separated from her again. It's as simple as that," Nina emphasized.
