"Lucas Lockwood, what are you doing? Let go of me!" Tina Chambers struggled, her almond-shaped eyes brimming with anger. "Shouldn't the Great Doctor Lockwood be treating patients at the hospital at this hour? What are you doing here?"
Lucas only tightened his grip. "Tina Chambers, tell me. Were you the woman from last night?"
"I don't know what you're talking about! Let me go!" With that, Tina clamped her teeth down hard on the large hand holding her.
However, Lucas seemed unbothered. His eyes were filled with complex emotions, and the dark circles under them revealed how poorly he had slept.
Seeing this, Tina felt a sharp pang in her heart. On that crazy night, he had gotten completely wasted but called her anyway. In the middle of the night, a young woman like her had rushed over to pick him up and take him home—only for him to mistake her for her sister.
Every time he called out "Manning," his cries seemed to come from the very depths of his soul.
