Thea Grant could have maintained her composure, but Shalma Hughes's second sentence completely ruined it. She stomped her foot. "Ms. Hughes, the day you stop teasing me will be the day the sun rises in the west."
Shalma pulled Thea along as they walked toward the private room. "Why did you all come out? A group trip to the restroom?"
"What group trip? Weren't we just worried about you?" Thea retorted. "You suddenly left the table after hearing that Mr. Winslow opened this Serenity Tower for his ex-girlfriend. Of course I had to come out and check on you."
Shalma knew Thea's personality well. The girl was very innocent, so it was normal for her to act this way. At that moment, her gaze happened to fall on Ronan Fordham, who had been walking quietly beside them. "Mr. Fordham, surely you didn't come out out of concern for me, did you?"
Ronan couldn't exactly say that he had been sent away by his boss, so he simply replied, "I came out because I was worried about her."
