Before Shalma Hughes could even react, Julian Winslow abruptly swept her into his arms.
Startled by the sudden movement, she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck. "What are you doing?"
His gaze fell upon her, burning with an intense heat. "Didn't you say you haven't showered yet? What a coincidence, neither have I. We can shower together and conserve water at the same time."
Ignoring Shalma's protests, Julian carried her briskly into the bathroom and kicked the door shut behind them.
Early the next morning.
While Shalma was still fast asleep, Julian quietly got out of bed. After dressing and freshening up, he walked back to her side of the bed. As he gazed down at her sleeping figure, his eyes softened with an unprecedented tenderness.
Her slightly wavy, lustrous chestnut hair fanned out across the pristine white pillow, looking like the most beautiful thing in the world. It captivated his gaze entirely.
