In the car, Ronan Fordham was reporting Julian Winslow's upcoming itinerary.
Shalma Hughes was in no mood to listen. Every time she took a flight, she felt incredibly exhausted and just wanted to catch up on sleep the moment she got into a car. And so she did, leaning against the window and closing her eyes to rest.
However, she was jolted awake by Ronan's sudden words. "I've retrieved the family registry documents."
Shalma opened her beautiful eyes. She glanced at the nonchalant Julian, then at Ronan's stone-cold expression, and finally at Jonah Sutton, who was traveling with them. Jonah's shocked expression was no less apparent than hers. She wondered if they were really going through with it.
At that moment, the car pulled up to the entrance of the Civil Affairs Bureau in Aethelgard.
