Julian Winslow looked back and forth between that bright, stunning face and the bench for a long time. Finally, with slight hesitation, he took a seat.
Shalma Hughes took out the spicy hotpot she had just bought, sat on the bench, and slowly opened the lid. When the steaming food was exposed to the air and Julian saw what it was, his eyes turned darker than ever before.
"This is yours. I know you prefer vegetables, so it's all vegetarian. I wasn't sure if you could handle spicy food, so I got you medium spice. Don't worry, medium spice isn't that hot. This stuff just isn't good if it lacks a kick," Shalma said, offering the entire bowl to Julian with both hands.
He saw her eyes sparkling like a starry sky, and then heard her say, "Try it. It actually doesn't taste bad." As if under some sort of spell, he reached out. When he took the white plastic bowl, his fingertips brushed against hers, causing an inexplicable flutter in his heart.
