Ji Kun was in a tough spot and didn't know what to say. He'd overheard Yang Hui's base salary at a dinner party once.
"It's fine, just tell me. I won't laugh, no matter how low it is. He's young, after all. With so little professional experience, he can't be earning that much."
"Umm… I heard it's 15,000."
Yang Wei was in the middle of sipping a cup of hot water. His hand trembled at the words, and the water shot up his nose. "Ah, SPUTTER— Ah, SPUTTER." "Hot… hot… hot!"
He looked like he was in agony. Ji Kun felt just as awful. They had barely touched the feast on the table, and now it was ruined, sprayed with water and spit. He had been planning to get the leftovers packed to go, but there was no way he could eat them now.
'Son of a bitch, wasting my hard-earned money. A pathetic wreck like you wants to compare yourself to Manager Yang? You're not even fit to shine his shoes.'
