Chapter 17 - Chapter 17: Childish

The messages in the class group chat continued to pour in.

Zhao Chi watched the Giants in the video, thought for a moment, and sent a voice message as well.

He sent it privately to Lu Yi.

[Lu Yi, take a look at those 2 Giants. They're not very old.]

[They're the Agile Type, not the Power Type. You can tell by their War Patterns and Bone Ornaments.]

[Cao Feng's Shadow Leopards will be at a disadvantage if they engage head-on. The Shadow Leopards have incredible burst speed, but their stamina is average. They can't keep it up for long, so it's best not to send them in directly.]

[I think the poison method someone mentioned earlier is a good idea. The range of an Elf Bow and Arrow is greater than the range of a Giant's thrown axe.]

[You know how things are between me and Cao Feng, so you should be the one to warn him. Don't let his mistake drag you down with him.]

Cao Feng had already arrived at Lu Yi's territory.

He had brought three Shadow Leopards with him.

The remaining two and his Junior Hero were back guarding his own territory.

He and Lu Yi had retreated to a safer distance and were formulating a battle plan.

Just then, Lu Yi suddenly fell silent, listening intently to Zhao Chi's advice.

Cao Feng thought the Giants were charging and quickly looked up, startled.

But he saw the Giants were still far away.

Cao Feng asked doubtfully, "What's wrong, Lu Yi? Why are you spacing out?"

Lu Yi relayed Zhao Chi's advice in her own words, keeping his involvement a secret.

Cao Feng frowned and asked, "Agile Type? Who said that?"

Lu Yi said, "I think there's some logic to it. To be safe, we'd be better off using poison."

Cao Feng sneered. "Hmph, was it Zhao Chi?"

Lu Yi froze, wondering how he had guessed.

Seeing the look on Lu Yi's face, Cao Feng knew he was right. "Zhao Chi? Is he qualified to give me advice?"

Cao Feng immediately opened his contacts.

He sent a voice message to Zhao Chi:

[Zhao Chi, I've pretty much always been in the top three of our class, while you're usually at the bottom, right? I don't need you to 'guide' me.]

[Besides War Patterns and Bone Ornaments, you also need to look at muscle structure and center of gravity to classify a Giant.]

[You have to consider all four factors, not just two. These two are the Power Type! Got it?]

[If your brain is broken, just keep quiet. Don't go spouting nonsense for no reason.]

After sending that, Cao Feng forwarded Zhao Chi's advice and his own reply to the entire class group chat.

Then he sent another voice message:

[This is so f*cking hilarious. Zhao Chi gets first place on one theory test and now he thinks he can boss me around. Hahaha!]

The class group chat went quiet for a moment.

Then, several people quickly replied one after another.

They were all his lackeys:

Kong Xiang: [Points for trying. At least Zhao Chi got half of it right, haha.]

Shi Juan: [Brother Cao, you really remember everything! Don't pay any attention to people who get one good score and lose their heads.]

Zheng He: [Zhao Chi, back when we were awakening our Talents in the Grand Hall, we saw you just spacing out. Did you fail to awaken? It's fine, there's always another chance.]

Li Ke: [Zhao Chi, you should just worry about yourself. Don't get so worked up every time you see a message from Lu Yi.]

There were a few more messages. Most were neutral, with only a small portion mocking Zhao Chi.

Lu Yi saw these messages too.

She felt a bit helpless.

She said to Cao Feng, "Cao Feng, Zhao Chi suffered a head injury. It was an unfortunate accident. If you think he's wrong, you can just refute him or ignore him. There's no need to talk like that. It's so low-class."

Cao Feng laughed. "Don't you always say he has a good attitude? I'm just helping you test whether it's genuine or just an act. I don't mean any harm."

Lu Yi retorted, dissatisfied, "I'm not an idiot. You think I can't tell whether you mean harm or not?"

Cao Feng frowned. "What? I'm the one here helping you fight the Giants, not Zhao Chi. Or do you want to ask him to come over?"

Lu Yi sighed. "Forget it. You can go back, then. I'll figure something out myself."

Cao Feng chuckled. "Hey now, I was just joking. Since I'm already here, of course I'll help you take care of this before I leave."

"Then stop trying to pick fights."

"Fine, fine. Let's get back to the battle plan!"

Zhao Chi heard Cao Feng's reply.

He also saw the sarcastic comments from the others.

'He truly felt completely unfazed.'

'It was like a few poodles yapping at him.'

Cao Feng had attacked his grades.

This was because he had just transmigrated and was completely unfamiliar with this world, lacking all sorts of common knowledge. As a result, his test scores had been abysmal.

He had indeed dragged down the class average.

He had also caused Chief Instructor Li Ruanyu to miss out on her bonus, making her frown frequently.

But Li Ruanyu never said anything about it and even helped him review the basics from time to time.

However, Li Ruanyu's time was limited.

So later, she had the class president, Lu Yi, tutor him. Lu Yi, for her part, felt that as the class president, this small effort was nothing and earnestly helped Zhao Chi.

Zhao Chi studied with immense dedication.

For the past two years, he had truly forgotten to eat or sleep, cramming all sorts of knowledge into his head.

Eventually, he finished learning all the foundational knowledge and caught up on all the previous coursework.

He even read a massive number of extra books from the library.

「Not long ago.」

The quantitative change led to a qualitative one.

He felt as if all the knowledge he had accumulated had suddenly connected.

Everything he had previously memorized by rote suddenly made sense.

It had truly become his own knowledge.

His scores on the last few theory tests had been quite good.

He even scored first in the class on the final one.

So of course he knew about the four factors for distinguishing a Giant's Attributes.

However, these two Giants were on the younger side, having only recently reached adulthood. Their muscles and center of gravity had not yet developed distinct characteristics, so those factors couldn't be used.

He could only rely on their War Patterns and Bone Ornaments for judgment.

Adding in the way the two Giants walked, he could basically confirm they were the Agile Type.

If Cao Feng refused to listen, that was his problem.

But Lu Yi had helped Zhao Chi before, so Zhao Chi still had to give her a warning.

He replied in the main class group chat:

[Lu Yi, in a moment, no matter what happens, focus all your attacks on the Giant distracted by the Shadow Leopard. You'll win if you can cripple its legs.]

[Cao Feng, if you're careless this time, two of your Shadow Leopards will definitely die.]

[Stop shouting and making a scene in front of our classmates. The moment you see a noble you're calling them 'Daddy' and 'Mommy.' But even if you kiss their asses, you'll never be one of them.]

[Lu Yi helped me, so I'm warning her. If you want to get yourself killed, that has nothing to do with me.]

[Your dad isn't dead yet, so go ask him to teach you some manners.]

Cao Feng's anger surged as he listened.

Zhao Chi's tone was like a father lecturing his son.

Cao Feng immediately started spewing a torrent of profanity.

A slew of curses involving his family and private parts flew out.

His few lackeys also started chiming in with their own abuse.

Anyone who didn't know what was going on might have thought Cao Feng was cussing out his own lackeys.

A few students even tried to mediate, telling Cao Feng and his lackeys not to fight amongst themselves.

Zhao Chi looked at the string of voice messages and didn't even bother to open and listen to them.

Soon, Cao Feng received a system warning.

His lackeys were warned as well.

It was finally quiet.

In this world, strength was everything.

Family background and personal achievements were all part of that strength.

Zhao Chi was an orphan. Although he had a clan, he couldn't rely on them before he had achievements of his own. Coupled with his poor grades, he was indeed an easy target for contempt and bullying.

Furthermore, his good relationships with Li Ruanyu and Lu Yi made him the target of even more jealousy and hostility from certain people.

Since Lu Yi had many admirers, Zhao Chi inexplicably attracted even more animosity.

But Zhao Chi couldn't just refuse the tutoring.

After all, he was desperate for the help someone was offering.

Moreover, Zhao Chi was a cautious person. As long as he didn't make a mistake, he would remain in an invincible position.

But there were still some friendly classmates, like Yang Xiong and Lu Yi.

"My lord, the congee is ready. Please, have a taste."

A gentle voice interrupted Zhao Chi's thoughts.
