According to traditional Christian scripture, the term "Antichrist" means "in place of Christ." Anyone who denies Jesus is the Christ, who denies Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, who denies Jesus is the Word made flesh, and who claims to be Christ themselves, is the Antichrist.
