Without the ability to hatch and nurture larvae, the half of the Yunxia Ridge Swarm originally assimilated by Ling Yi had already lost over half its numbers from the daily strain of overwork.
This was especially true for the low-level Red-Armored Beetles. As the cheapest and most useful logistics Worker Zergs, their lifespans were directly tied to their work hours. With reasonable rest and rotation, they could barely survive for several months.
But with the Salvation Army's desperate need for Nutrient Liquid, they collected Biomass almost nonstop, day and night, sending it to the Biological Meat Nest to be broken down and condensed into the initial Nutrient Liquid.
As a result, the Swarm, which originally numbered between twenty and thirty thousand, had seen over half its population die from exhaustion in just a few short days.
