"You want to discuss prophecy and Destiny with me?"
Jenkins stopped in his tracks, looking somewhat surprised.
It had been a very, very long time since anyone had sought him out to discuss such topics.
Although Jenkins had long since given up on the Path of the Extraordinary, adopting the attitude of a slacker, he was actually doing quite well in academic circles. He was particularly accomplished in archaeology and considered a highly respected archaeologist.
But few people knew that Jenkins was actually an expert in the fields of Divination, prophecy, and Destiny—an authority even greater than in his archaeological work.
But ever since a prophecy he had made—one he regretted to this very day—he had quietly "retired from the scene." He refused all matters related to the subject and settled into his life as an archaeologist, content to be forgotten by that world.
