Before Wyatt Quinn could speak, what sounded like Silas Fairchild's voice calling his name came from the other end of the line.
But the wind was howling, so Seraphina Quinn couldn't hear clearly.
"Uncle, are you with Mr. Fairchild?"
"Why... why are you both over there?"
"Did something happen to someone?"
On the other end of the line, Wyatt Quinn realized how perceptive Seraphina was. He motioned for Silas Fairchild to be quiet, then turned his back to the sea breeze and replied to her:
"I'm with Mr. Fairchild inspecting a project. We're a bit busy right now. I'll tell you all about it when I get back."
Seraphina Quinn let out an "oh." "Well... all right then."
After ending the call with Seraphina Quinn, Wyatt turned to Silas Fairchild. "Seraphina can't know about this."
Silas Fairchild agreed.
He nodded at Wyatt Quinn. "We'll keep it from her for now."
Wyatt Quinn asked, "Any survivors?"
"...We haven't found any yet."
Wyatt Quinn's brows furrowed deeply.
