Seraphina Quinn watched her with concern, her heart pounding with anxiety for her friend.
Fortunately, Claire was quick to react.
After just a few seconds, she replied to Lionel Langley,
"The fact that Sabrina Ainsworth has returned with her child disgusts me. That's why I refuse to accept your child with her. Not only will I not raise him, but I also want a divorce."
She paused, then added,
"Since you won't agree to a divorce, I wanted to ask Seraphina for her advice. But we had only just started discussing it when you showed up."
Lionel Langley's thick, dark brows furrowed deeply.
His gaze, sharp as a hawk's, locked onto Claire's face. "Is that so?"
Claire's voice dripped with sarcasm. "What else could it be? Surely you don't expect a woman with a congenital uterine defect like me to get pregnant with your child, do you?"
