Seraphina pressed her lips together. "No. You go ahead and do what you need to. I'm going to get up and find something to eat."
Damian Fairchild: "If you're not happy about me going to the Zane family's place, I can come back right now."
'Damian has already gone,' Seraphina thought. 'It wouldn't be right for me to say I'm unhappy now and make him come back.'
So, she said, "I'm not unhappy. You're a guest at the Zane family's place; you must have your reasons."
On the other end of the line, Damian Fairchild's eyes darkened at Seraphina's words.
As he casually lifted his gaze, he saw Chloe Kendall flying a kite on the lawn.
She ran with the kite, skipping and hopping, looking youthful and radiant.
Damian Fairchild watched Chloe Kendall's skipping figure. After a long silence, he said coolly to Seraphina on the other end of the phone:
"Just stay at the hotel and wait for me to come back."
