In the dark of night, she looked calmly at the furious Damian Fairchild and replied in a placid voice, "Because he told me my brother is still alive."
Damian Fairchild's entire body shuddered violently at her words.
Seraphina Quinn looked at his handsome, incredulous face and continued,
"Not only does he know my brother is still alive, he also knows his whereabouts. His whole reason for going to the Myrian North was to ransom my brother from an enemy of his. That's why I've been in contact with him."
As soon as she finished speaking, Damian Fairchild demanded in a low, stern voice,
"Then why didn't you tell me this the day Cian came to say goodbye? Why would he help you? You weren't honest with me that day. Did you agree to some outrageous demand of his?"
Seraphina Quinn blurted out instinctively, "I didn't."
