Seraphina Quinn turned her head, and Cian's kiss landed on empty air.
He failed to kiss Seraphina, but he wasn't angry.
Because he had achieved his goal of provoking Damian Fairchild.
Just moments later, Damian Fairchild punched Cian in the face.
Cian pushed his tongue against the inside of his cheek. He wiped the blood from the corner of his lip and looked at Damian Fairchild, who stood before the bed with rage-filled eyes. Then, he added fuel to the fire.
"Fairchild," he said, "tell me, just how long are you going to keep this up? It's not just her body that's mine now—her heart is, too. Otherwise, she wouldn't have let me into her bed."
He paused, then twisted the knife.
"The child you're having with my sister, Lorelai York, is due in about two months, right? You're so greedy. My sister and Mia Linden aren't enough for you—you have to try and take what's mine, too. But here's the thing: can you actually beat me?"
