The two of them acted according to their plan. Kane remained in the hovel to secretly undergo the trial, while Anvil was responsible for signaling the rebellion.
He took a deep breath, as if steeling his resolve. He began to flail his limbs and shriek bizarrely, charging out from his area of the Slave Camp. He even scooped up handfuls of mud and smeared it all over his face and beard.
"Hee hee, it's glowing... The stones are glowing..."
He babbled incoherently, acting as if he'd gone mad, and rammed his head into a support pillar of a nearby hovel, causing the entire structure to shake violently.
The goblin guards were startled at first, but when they saw it was just a mad Dwarf, they immediately broke into shrill, mocking laughter.
"This guy's gone crazy."
"He must be hallucinating from hunger."
A goblin overseer approached with a look of disgust, lifted a foot clad in a ragged leather boot, and kicked Anvil viciously in the stomach.
