It's kind of funny to say, but I'm actually a failed author who's been trying for two and a half years. I've written in several other genres before: beast-taming, fantasy, apocalypse, and xianxia.
The reason I thought of writing about Slimes and cultivation was that I actually dreamed about it.
That's right. On an incredibly hot night in June, I had a dream. On a whim, I wrote an opening and submitted it to my editor, Haoyun. (I can't rule out the possibility that the Slime God sent me the dream.)
I honestly didn't think it would get accepted, but it did on the first try... Ugh, sometimes you just have to admit that fate has a strange sense of humor.
Then I took my editor's advice, nailed down the specific direction, did my research, and launched the book...
