As soon as he stepped into the central courtyard, Su Chen saw someone who surprised him—Aunt Tang. He glanced at Jiang Hui, realizing it must have been him who had called and asked her to return to work.
"Sir, you've arrived? The food's just been prepared. You can eat now!" Aunt Tang said respectfully as she approached Su Chen.
"Thank you for your trouble, Aunt Tang."
Su Chen had no objections to Jiang Hui's arrangements. In fact, he was quite pleased. It showed that Jiang Hui had thoughtfully arranged everything for his return.
Exhausted and starving after a long day, Su Chen sat down and immediately started eating. Aunt Tang had prepared a rich spread: three meat dishes, two vegetable dishes, and a soup—all of his favorites.
"Ugh, I'm stuffed again," Su Chen sighed, leaning back in his chair and shaking his head in resignation.
