Aidele nodded, her expression calm.
She had expected this. News from the Silver Sail City State would have certainly preceded her return.
The Elders were waiting to hear how she, the "Quasi-Inheritor," would report the results of her trip.
In the assembly hall, nine Elders sat in a row upon the high dais.
When Aidele walked through the door, all eyes fell upon her.
Without breaking stride, she walked straight to the center of the hall and gave a slight bow toward the dais.
"Aidele has not failed her mission."
Elder Darcy raised a hand. "Sit and speak."
Aidele took a seat and recounted the events of her trip to the Silver Sail City State.
She described how she had presented the evidence, made her demands, how Clan Leader Anton had reacted, and the final agreement they reached.
She didn't embellish or add any flair, simply stating the facts. But this straightforwardness only served to highlight her confidence.
