"Whoa, when are we ever going to finish all this?" Jasper glanced at the large bags of dried fruit in his hands, his face falling in exasperation.
'We're grown-ups now, not kids. We can't possibly eat this much.'
Victor hefted the bags. "The New Year is all about the atmosphere. Besides, with so many people around, we'll definitely finish it all."
They bought about this much in previous years, too. But when the family gathered to chat, play mahjong, and what not, they'd get through a lot without even realizing it.
While the three brothers were chatting, Cecilia had already dragged Seraphina over to the shop next door. "Maurice, come on! They have good stuff here!"
Cecilia's loud voice was unmistakable. Carrying their bags, Maurice and the other two brothers made their way through the crowd toward her.
"Maurice, we want some of this!" Cecilia said, pointing to the freshly roasted chestnuts and the ice cream, practically drooling.
