Seeing her surprised expression, Felix Vaughn knew she had figured it out. A smile glinted in his eyes. "That's right, it's just as you thought. I recognized you back at the manor. To be sure, I went and asked Seraphina about it later."
The first time he saw her at the manor, he felt her gaze was very familiar. Even the tone of her voice seemed like something he had heard before. After observing her a few more times, he realized she was the woman who had caused him to issue a Vaughn Family warrant. Because of this, he specifically went to find Seraphina afterward, which is how he confirmed everything.
'Damn it, it's that wretched Seraphina Ashworth again,' Ashlyn Paige thought, her mind a complete mess. 'Is this what they call being betrayed by a friend?'
"Then it's settled. Ashlyn, you'll stay here and celebrate the New Year with us," Mrs. Vaughn said gently, taking Ashlyn Paige's hand.
