Beneath the great, ancient tree by the Lake of the Ancient Keep, Caden Reginald sat on the ground, leaning lightly against its trunk. Seraphina Ashworth was snuggled lazily in his arms.
"By the way, Caden, are you a Holy Flame Body?" Seraphina suddenly remembered what Trudy had said. She looked up, her gaze meeting Caden's own lazy eyes as she asked thoughtfully.
Caden looked at her, his thin lips pursed slightly. "Yes," he explained, "I was born with the Holy Flame Body. The Jade Ring on my hand is a family heirloom. I was targeted in an assassination attempt when I was ten. During that incident, I used my blood to unlock the ring's seal, and I haven't been able to remove it since."
"So, what's inside the Jade Ring, now that its seal is unlocked?" Seraphina suddenly remembered how her own Azurelight Bracelet contained a dimension after being opened. 'The Jade Ring must have something inside it too,' she thought. She pulled Caden's hand closer, studying the Jade Ring on his thumb.
