With Roman Rhodes's go-ahead, Stella Sterling's eyes curved into crescents as she smiled.
"When are you coming back to Rhodes Harbor?"
"Probably Friday."
Stella was about to ask for a specific time when the man's phone rang.
They both glanced over at the same time.
Stella saw a long number on the screen, starting with 0033.
'An international call.'
Roman Rhodes picked up his phone, giving Stella a light pat on her backside.
Stella took the hint, slid off his lap, and walked over to the floor-to-ceiling windows to admire the view.
He answered the call.
She couldn't hear what the person on the other end said.
She only heard Roman say coldly, "You don't need to concern yourself."
He spoke Cantonese the entire time.
Not wanting to eavesdrop, Stella turned to move farther away.
But then she heard the man's voice drop to an icy tone. "Instead of worrying about my affairs, you should think about how to get your wife to come home."
Hearing that, Stella moved even farther away.
