In the cardiac surgery ward, Chief Director Guo Qiuzhe had just completed his fourth heart transplant of the week.
Lately, Director Guo had practically been living in his office, the patient wards, and the operating room. Today, his schedule was finally a bit lighter.
Guo Qiuzhe was making rounds with several junior doctors when he noticed the patient in Bed 3 was preparing for discharge.
The chief resident beside him, acting as the point man, immediately explained to Guo Qiuzhe:
"Director Guo, the patient in Bed 3 has aortic stenosis complicated by an abdominal aortic aneurysm and a complex vascular malformation. After being admitted here, we held two rounds of consultations but couldn't come up with a viable surgical plan. We're currently managing him with conservative treatment, so he's planning to transfer to another hospital."
