The thought made her anxious. She hurried to the entrance of the venue, constantly checking the time on her phone and staring at the stream of cars on the road.
Five minutes passed.
Ten minutes passed.
Twenty minutes passed...
Soon, it was nine o'clock. People and cars flowed past the venue entrance, but there was still no sign of Sean Quinn's car.
Stella Lockwood's heart sank bit by bit, and a nameless fury flared up inside her.
'Damn it. That bastard actually stood me up.'
Furious, Stella Lockwood paced back and forth in front of the venue. 'To think I was actually made a fool of by him this time.'
At 9:05, a dejected Stella walked back to the set. Everyone was gathered together, laughing and chatting happily, while she was cast aside, a solitary laughingstock.
