The unranked fiend struggled a couple of times before its breathing ceased completely.
Its eyes, wide in death, were filled with confusion.
'I was hiding so deep and didn't even cause any trouble for these humans. Why did they have to target a small, unranked fiend like me?'
'Haven't they killed almost everything within a few miles of this area?'

Two Taiping Captains walked over. One of them pulled out the blade and casually stuffed the unranked fiend into a pouch.
A fiend's fur, flesh, and bones were all valuable materials.
The other Taiping Captain had said, his voice tinged with envy.
"Didn't we already divide up the territory? You should be patrolling your own area. What are you doing in the sector I'm responsible for?"
said the Taiping Captain who had just killed the fiend.
